Arnott Supports International Female Ride Day
Arnott Cycles is pleased support International Female Ride Day on Saturday, May 4, 2019 (and every first Saturday of May). Started in 2007 by motorcyclist Vicki Gray, International Female Ride Day (IFRD) came about as a boost for women interested in motorcycling. The day is designed to "elevate the enjoyment for women riding motorcycles." Today, it is referred to as a 'movement' for for the growing number of women riders.
- According to Motorcycle Industry Council stats, women comprise 12.3% of the motorcycling population. That's up from 9.6% in 2003, 8.2% in 1998 and 6.4% in 1990
- The powersports industry is estimated to be a $23 billion industry, and women are responsible for $6 billion plus in industry sales.
- According 'Women Riders Now' 61 percent of women motorcycle owners ride a cruiser-style motorcycle
